A lighter brighter supply chain
From energy-efficient offices and factories to learning more about the suppliers of its raw materials, PMI entered 2017 with a smaller carbon footprint.
Greening PMI’s operations
From 2014 to 2015, greenhouse gas emissions from PMI’s operations dropped by 15%, mainly due to remodeling one of its offices.
Taking carbon out of PMI factories
PMI’s manufacturing partners installed a solar heating system, replaced lighting fixtures with high-efficiency LEDs and upgraded manufacturing equipment. This will reduce CO2 emissions in its factories by over 1,000 metric tons a year.
In 2016, PMI mapped the environmental and social impacts, risks and opportunities associated with its raw materials suppliers, helping it to create a more transparent supply chain.
